Carilion Biomedical Institute CEO Joins the Southeast BIO Board of Directors

ROANOKE VA (August 2005) The Carilion Biomedical Institute (CBI) is pleased to announce that President and CEO Daniel Barchi has been named to the Southeast BIO Board of Directors.  Southeast BIO (abbreviated as SEBIO) is a regional nonprofit organization that works to promote growth in the life sciences industry in the Southeastern United States by encouraging entrepreneurship and bringing together companies, investors, universities, and support organizations active in the development of the industry.

Barchi has been President and CEO of the Carilion Biomedical Institute for nearly three years, working to foster collaborative biomedical research and bringing biomedical companies to the Roanoke area. “I’m excited to join the Board of an organization whose goals are so similar to CBI’s,” stated Barchi.  “Together we can continue to support a strong biomedical industry in the Southeast.”

In addition to his work on the SEBIO Board of Directors, Barchi is also active on the boards for the NewVa Corridor Technology Council (NCTC), the Virginia Biotechnology Association, the Southwest Virginia Second Harvest Food Bank, and the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce.
