The Riverside Center is a 110.5-acre biotechnology research and development park in the heart of the City of Roanoke. Riverside Center provides an ideal environment for new and existing biotechnology companies.
Riverside Center, which is situated just south of Roanoke’s central business district, is conveniently located next to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Riverside Center had access to the parks, walking and biking trails along the Roanoke River Greenway System, and is close to shopping, downtown, excellent neighborhoods and other amenities.
- Riverside One has capacity for over two million square feet of space, some of it dedicated as flexible office space, and will provide excellent space for new start-ups as well as ready-to-build sites for larger biotech companies.
- The first building complete at Riverside Center is Riverside One. Riverside One houses the Carilion Biomedical Intsitute, Luna Innovations, ION Healthcare, the Carilion Foundation and VT Riverside.
- The 200,000 square-foot Carilion Clinic outpatient facility is currently under construction and will be complete in 2009. This building is located at the corner of Reserve and Jefferson Avenue and will house physician specialists. The building is designed and located for patient convenience and access.
- The joint medical school and research institute will be under construction in the near future.
